Resources for Public Expenditure Tracking Survey Implementation

Where to Collect Data: Sampling Strategies

To ensure the transparent and accountable management of the capitation grant, independent monitoring is essential.

Tracking Safe Motherhood Funds in Uganda

It is estimated that 16 women die every day of pregnancy-related causes in Uganda.  The Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) believes that part of the reason is poor resource allocation in Uganda's public health programs.  In this study FOWODE will track the flow of resources intended for Government funded safe motherhood programs to identify how efficiently resources are used, if there is any leakage, and develop recommendations to improve how funds are used and ensure equal access to these services.

Tracking Instructional Materials Distribution in Public Primary Schools In Ghana: A Study by CDD

Recognizing that there are large discrepancies in the level of access to textbooks and other instructional materials in Ghana, the Ghana Center for Democratic Development will be carrying out a PETS to track the dispursement of instructional materials from the National Government down to public primary schools, identify any leakages and their impacts, and develop recommendations to make the system more efficient. 

Expenditure Tracking in HIV/AIDS Prevention Programs in Bangladesh

Expenditure tracking of public fund utilization is widely accepted and recognized concept and practice in global perspective for identifying inefficiencies, leakages, transparency in procedures, better planning that is linked with needs and performance and to develop citizen’s right to know. So many challenges are deeply incorporated with expenditure tracking, but opportunities are always endless. Challenges are naturally deepest where this is yet to be conducted earlier.

Public Expenditure Analysis and Service Delivery Assessment of Primary Schools in Pakistan

Pakistan has expressed its commitment for achieving the Education for All (EFA) goals, yet according to a report from the Asian Development Bank, Pakistan’s Net Enrollment Rate, adult literacy rate, and the EFA Development Index are the lowest in the region. This poor performance is largely attributed to incoherent planning: poor education management and insufficient budgetary allocations and spending at all tiers of government.

An Evaluation of the School Nutrition Programe in Eastern Cape, South Africa

The School Nutrition Programme (SNP) in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa has been plagued with service delivery problems since its inception in 1996. These problems have ranged from gross mismanagement to corruption, and resulted in the program collapsing in 2006, to be formally re-launched in July 2008.
