After a successful launch workshop in May 2011 in Johannesburg for the new phase of the TAP program, R4D held a follow-up workshop in Accra this week for one of its new grantees. Led by R4D Program Officer, Caroline Poirrier, representatives from Laboratoire Citoyennetés (LC) in Burkina Faso attended to develop objectives for their three-year social accountability work plan, undergo training for their first research activity (quantitative service delivery surveys for the education sector), and engage in peer learning with fellow grantees (including representatives from Transparency Rwanda and the Center for Democratic Development in Ghana). The workshop featured presentations by social accountability experts from Social Watch Benin, Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé, Consortium pour la recherche économique et sociale, and R4D.
