Family Care International-Kenya (FCI-Kenya) is dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safer for women in Kenya. FCI-Kenya is a leading national advocate for maternal and sexual and reproductive health and rights, promoting their central place on the national health and development agenda and in the government budget. The organization also creates innovative models and tools, broadens awareness of maternal and reproductive health problems and their solutions, and works with partners to implement practical and effective programs on the ground. FCI-Kenya’s capacity building and advocacy programs are designed to bring government partners together with civil society groups so that health services can better address the needs and priorities of their communities.
FCI-Kenya is affiliated with Family Care International (FCI), which was founded in 1987 as the first international organization dedicated to improving maternal health in developing countries. It has been working since then — collaboratively, innovatively, and effectively — to pursue a world where no woman suffers preventable injury or death from pregnancy or childbirthrelated causes and where all people are able to enjoy their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
