Concern for Environmental Development And Research (CEDAR) is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit, nongovernmental development organization formed in 1989 in Bangladesh. It has three core objectives- freedom from poverty, freedom from ignorance and freedom from oppression. The organization visualizes a Bangladesh free from hunger, poverty, mal-governance, environmental degradation and all forms of exploitation based on age, sex, religion and ethnicity and a society which is economically productive, equitable and genuinely democratic within 2020. The development goal of the organization is to catalyze liveliness and activism in ensuring fundamental freedom, social justice, equal rights and equal opportunity for all, especially the disadvantaged and deprived. CEDAR works in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention, poverty reduction, non-formal education, maternal child health & family planning, and good governance and anti corruption issues.
