ABANTU for Development is an organization with the purpose of enhancing the capacity of African people, in particular women, to participate in development and in the political and economic structures of their country. The goal of ABANTU for Development is to eradicate cultural, legal, and political obstacles that hinder women from attaining economic independence and equality before the law. ABANTU for Development is a women’s organization that focuses its work on building the capacities of both women and men, women’s groups, and other stakeholders to influence policies to benefit women and men.
