Transparency and Accountability Program

TAP's mission is to increase the capacity of civil society organizations to reduce corruption and better hold government accountable for efficiency in social sector public spending

TAP Book Launch

TAP will be holding the inaugural book launch for its most recent book, “From the Ground Up”, on June 22 in London.

Speakers will include Paraguayan investigator Cynthia Brizuela Speratti of CADEP, one of the 19 organizations documented in the book, as well as co-authors Dr. Stephen Kosack and Courtney Tolmie. "From the Ground Up,’’ highlights several examples of local groups making an impact, including a Guatemala organization that persuaded the government to change the school calendar so that students would not sit for months without books and supplies; a Ghana organization that identified reasons behind high teacher absenteeism on Fridays and then started work with the government to correct the problem; and a Paraguay group that documented a troubling lack of transparency among public school budgets and effectively made the case that parent organizations were the only independent group capable of being an outside monitor of the funds
